J'ai vu plusieurs images de soldats sur google ajourd'hui en cherchant un fond d'écran et ça m'est venu en tête... Ouais, j'ai écris en anglais... ça sortait mieux comme ça. -------------------
The Soldier’s Burden… (By: LANTHIER, Marc-André) A soldier’s burden isn’t what it looks like… too much people thinks that they live it easier than they do. We see on TV reports and live images of what’s going around them daily, but we don’t live it with them. - To defend - To attack - To cooperate - To listen - To understand - To do - To take - To trust - To share - To live - To risk - To hurt - To kill - To see - To believe It is easy to defend a cause when you are behind the lines, but when in front of the show, first row, you are under constant stress and aggressive threatening. It looks easy to attack people when you are told to do so, but when you think about it, they are as much human as you are, living every seconds at threat. You can imagine how easy it is to cooperate with your partner at your daily job, but when your life or your pal’s depend on each others’, you can’t feel at ease. We often argue about our bosses or head chef about listening to their speeches and orders, but when it’s about life or death, you can barely concentrate. Understanding an order is easy. Understanding a principle is a whole different story and not many peoples understand that. You are told every once in a while what to do. You often push this work for later, but for a soldier, later is not an option. Later is too late, at any rate. You can take heavy stuff once in a while, either physically or psychologically. Soldier carries gear, orders, trusts, lives, innocents, goals and too many more. You often doubt about your friends when they choke on a rendezvous or an appointment. A soldier has no place for mistrust. It’s a matter of life or death. When you are asked to share your lunch, money or apartment, you often complain. A soldier never does. He shares his ammo, ration and feelings at all time. We live small fights everyday. Disputes, misunderstandings or wrong doings are some of it. A soldier fights against everything possible thing, even himself. Sometimes, you risk little to gain big. A soldier risk big for everything at all time, period. We often regret our action for hurting people, physically or psychologically. A soldier regrets even before hurting someone, either winning or loosing out of it. In games, to kill looks easy and quick. In the real life, at war, to kill is only a split-second that defines your life or someone else’s. We see movies and reports at TV of how war is. A soldier lives it, live, every time he’s on duty or not. We believe in our soldiers. We might even do so a little too much. This is the real heaviest burden of a soldier. The whole world depends on every single soldier. |
